3D Computer Graphics Experiment with Three.JS

It’s been a while and I figured it was about time I dropped this baby in the blog drop-box. This project was made using Three.JS, Javascript + HTML. The coolest thing about it is the file size which is only about 18 kilobytes (That is if you exclude some of the linked files [About 400KB including them]).

The relationship created between 3D and Web is interesting, and sometimes surprising. For the longest time I tried to create a 3D skybox background, but found a pretty simple solution through just creating a CSS gradient that spans from the bottom of the browser window to the top.

This project has no imported models and all of the objects in the scene are created pro grammatically. If you want to try it out, you can do so here < Note not all Graphics Cards are supported, and you will definitely need either Chrome or Safari. If that doesn’t work for you, you can check out a video of it in action below. The lighting could definitely use some work, but I think overall it was a great learning experience.
